Featuring Drywall Lifts

If you have some drywall installation to do and you need a way to lift drywall panels, then drywall lifts are something you should seriously consider.  These lifts can assist you in lifting large drywall sheets several feet up into the air and are wonderful devices to use when you have to deal with vaulted ceilings.  They work great on flat or angled ceilings and walls.  And a lift snaps together easily in just a few minutes.

The great thing about most lifts for drywall is that they can easily be handled by you – alone!   There is no need to ask a “pal” to help you.  They are made out of heavy duty materials and come with locking outriggers.  These lifts will help you when you’re hanging your drywall - from the top ceiling to the bottom sheet.  Keep in mind as you’re hanging your drywall that it should always run perpendicular to the framing.

Hanging drywall isn’t all that difficult if you start by doing the ceiling first.  That way the sheets you use on adjoining walls can be used as support for the drywall you have already put on the ceiling.  Be sure to mark all studs and joists so that you’ll know where to fasten the drywall sheets.

Every location has different building codes for drywall so be sure to check before you began your drywall project.  Most people installing their own drywall prefer to use nails rather than screws and a screw gun.  If you choose to use nails, be sure to use 1 ¼ inch shank nails because they work the best and hold up longer.  The best way to set your nails is with a special hammer for drywall work.  The head of the hammer is rounded to set the nails slightly below the surface.  The dimple that remains will be covered up later with a joint compound.

You drywall project will be much easier if you use a drywall lift to get the drywall where you want it to be.  With a lift, you’ll be able to easily maneuver the drywall into place and hold it there for easy installation.
